We got our first TV around 1952 in Panama City, FL. At first it came on just about dusk. One day one of my first grade school mates told me the TV was going to be on in the daytime too.

Everyone asked, how will you be able to see it?

I remember those test patterns but it has been a long time as they all have been on 24 hours for a very long time.

We got ours about then too. We could get Havana and Mexico City channels, as well as the Columbus, GA station...and Montgomery, Al too.
