Close to half the states allow first cousin marriage.

I’m curious where you get the notion that first cousin marriage is prohibited by Christianity. I don’t think that’s the case.

Not sure about Talmudic Judaism. The Law certainly does not prohibit marriage of first cousins. In fact, quite a few first cousins got married in the Bible. Jacob’s wives, for example.

I didn't say it did/didn't. That was from another FReeper. Consanguinity is very high in the Jewish faith. Certain Chrisitian 'groups, ie Amish, Mennonites, Mandaeans and others are infamous for their endogamy.
