I love this phone like no other I’ve ever had. But I’m not a “power user” of smart phone apps. And most of the features I use are standard “android” stuff, like the google maps app that shows me traffic congestion in real time.

But the display is amazingly beautiful. Dramatically so. This matters for maps, photos, etc.

Samsung has nailed the phone/tablet display. An old lady and I were chatting about it at Costco (oh nooooooo, ANOTHER Godless, liberal, yet extremely well-run company!). We both have iPad Airs and yet wished for the Tab S display. They have different modes, and most of the time are set to the more dynamic ones for eye-pop, but in Basic Mode the Tab S has “the most color accurate display that we have ever measured for a Smartphone or Tablet” (according to Display Mate). So it’s just a killer display, period.

I’d be planning my next iPad purchase ASAP if they would put those displays inside. Apple’s is excellent, but compared side by side (even in Basic Mode) the Tab S excels. Too bad about Samsungs awful OS, though...
