Some one of your contacts probably signed up for something on Facebook and they ended up sharing your contact info via Facebook.
Happens to me quite a bit.

If you use Gmail, Yahoo mail, etc, they sell the mailing lists. They can bounce your name against your search priorities (FR for example) and sell a list of people likely to support a conservative candidate. Same if you searched liberal sites such as Mother Jones, Democrat Umderground, etc.

It’s no uncommon for candidates to “rent” lists complied by the RNC or from candidates from previous campaigns.
I still get appeals that contain a mishmash of my name and wife’s name from 2006...

You have an email exclusively for family members asking for money?

Sorry about that, I thought you wouldn’t mind.
And I still need another $50....

Well if you can’t sleep at night over it you can request that they take you off the list. Its usually somewhere in the body of the email.

I started to get the emails last week, also....now, just about every other day, as a matter of fact.
I, too, am curious as to how his campaign got my email addy. The web-sited source at the bottom appears legit.
Since it's Ted, I really don't care...just nosey, that's all.
I've been on my congressman's e-mailing list for a long time......I'll bet our elected pols share lists with each other routinely, hmmmm.......

I like most of the policies Cruz is pursuing, but I feel uncomfortable receiving a signed email from him to an email address I only share with family asking for money. What's up with that?If you use a public email server {unlike hildabutch} anyone with semi-technical skills, can get your email address.
Why are you "uncomfortable", because you just found out that your email address is not private or because Cruz axed you for $10?

Jim Robinson assumes that anyone here would want to give to Ted Cruz. Now go do it! But only after you give to the Freepathon.

Cruz got mine from a TEA meeting in 2010. I doubt Weakly Substandard shares with him since they’re mostly a GOPe front office.

Maybe that was a message from God.
