Multiple | Multiple

Posted on 04/02/2015 12:40:14 PM PDT by ConjunctionJunction

What did the world look like as it was transforming into the horrifying apocalypse depicted in The Walking Dead? This summer, AMC will answer that question with Fear The Walking Dead, an all-new original series set in Los Angeles, following new characters as they face the beginning of the end of the world.

Starring Kim Dickens (Gone Girl, Sons of Anarchy), Cliff Curtis (Missing, Gang Related), Frank Dillane (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) and Alycia Debnam Carey (Into the Storm) and Executive Produced by Dave Erickson (Marco Polo, Sons of Anarchy), Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero and David Alpert, Fear The Walking Dead premieres this summer, with a second season airing in 2016.

The people who want to pay less for the logistics of shooting the show.

My guess is it spread over the US very quickly due to air travel. It then broke out from central population hubs in a snowflake/grid pattern of expansion.

They are tying it into vaccines. Possibly a bad batch or a bioweapon mistaken/mislabeled for a crate of vaccines. Could also possibly be tied into a vaccine reacting badly with a wild virus of something and causing unforseen outcomes. If everyone has it good chance it’s airborne transmitted and probably spread all around from burning the dead in the open.

You must be joking. Laws don’t stop illegal aliens and
their supporters. You think they stop any gun lover
anywhere in California?

Eh, it’s a soap opera with zombies.

I’ve hung in there so far but I think I’m out after this season.

It will somehow be George Bush’s fault or because Republicans cut the CDC budget!

Same here - I watch from a prepper’s perspective.

I like the survival aspect, the zombies don’t really do anything for me. The “bad people”, though...now that is realistic.

Ok, on the advice of all you Freepers, I have ordered season 1. If I like it, I'll get the rest.

If you haven't seen "Mr. Selfridge," it's awesome. I especially like it because of the premise of an American businessman in England showing the Brits how to do large-scale department stores. But of course there is more to it, and Jeremy Piven is terrific.

You’re in for some good viewing! Please come back and ping us to let us know what you think.

“Mr. Selfridge” sounds good...I think I’d enjoy it. I’ll add it to the list of things I want to watch when we get decent streaming speed.

I love how they introduce people of the time into his store: F. W. Woolworth thinks about competing with him; Arthur Conan Doyle does a booksigning there; Ernest Shackelton comes by.

So this show is currently running on PBS...I saw it listed on the Directv guide last night. I don’t have to stream it. I’m going to check it out.

"...I like watching the show from a prepper’s perspective - what would it look like if our country suddenly fell apart?..."

I see it as a training manual. I try to use it as a learning tool to teach my wife about group psychology and behavior.

Even though the producers are rabid anti-gun leftists, there are still lessons to be learned.

Some people consider The Stand to be The Great American Novel.

I read it as youth and it shaped my personality. It made me cognizant of the evil that resides in some people.

Good points. I find the different groups and how they develop to be fascinating.

It’s also interesting how they seem to be anti-gun leftists, but they make the 2nd Amendment case in almost every single episode. LOL!
