Actually, Josephus' birth is placed in 37/38, so he was born just a few years after the crucifixion of Jesus.

I recall reading a column decades ago which was reacting to someone back then claiming that Jesus never existed. The columnist's reaction was "if that's true then the Thirty Years War wasn't necessary."

Oh yeah, my apologies—meant to write that his account was from decades after Christ died.

I’m not buying the argument in this article, just saying that Josephus was not a contemporary.
