Wow and thanks. I read Malcolm’ auto biography many years ago, and thought he was showing some signs of humanity before he died. I didn’t remember the details you provided, and maybe he wasn’t mellowing. Thirty or more years ago Black Muslims seemed like fringe kooks, and Islam was distant. If Barack was Shabazz and knew it, it would explain a lot.

Malcom spent 18 weeks during one trip to the Middle East studying at the al Azhar mosque in Cairo being instructed in 'true islam' (sunni) before making the hajj in April 1964. He planned to take the US to the United Nations for reparations and the establishment of a State for their descendants. Cleaning up his image began from the moment he was assassinated.
