The population of the Philippines, minus Mindinao, is around 80 million. At 700 000 per district, that’s 114 new Members of Congress, and presuming the House stays at 435, about 25-30% of the House would be Catholic, Spanish-speaking Filipinos.

Either we’d have to expand the number of Representatives or put them on “probation” for awhile to see how it shakes out.
I really think there are many positive reasons to at least look at it.

And they no longer speak much Spanish, they speak English and local dialects such as Bikol, Cebuano, Hiligaynon (Ilonggo), Ilocano, Kapampangan, Pangasinan, Tagalog, and Waray. And aren’t a lot of Americans Catholic already?
