I know hundreds of retired cops in their 60’s and 70’s and almost every one of them says the same thing, and NONE of them will have anything to do with today’s “law enforcement officers”, because they were all “Peace Officers”
I guess Lowering Standards nationwide 40 years ago worked out like most of us said it would.

They sure weren’t in my area in the 40s,50s,and 60’s. Lots of billy club use and no rights when being hassled.
The old timers usually don’t like the newcomers. Everything was better in “the good old days” according to them.
.
Totally different from the retired LEOs I know. We have breakfast once a month and a bunch of us are in a Jeeping group. I never hear anything bad about today's officers. Yes, there will always be a few bad apples, but most are doing a fine job.

Became a peace Officer in the early 70’s and went reserve 5 1/2 years later and still carry my certification and carry a reserve badge with the SO. It’s been over 40 years and I’ve been through 4 Sheriff’s and I still don’t know hundreds of retired officers or deputies let alone have conversations with them.
