In other words they wanted him to be a productive, upright citizen, unlike what he turned out to be.

“The shocking killing of Jimmie Paul reminded many in Chester County of the stunning 2001 killings of Joy and Joe Pittman by their 12-year-old grandson, Christopher Pittman. Pittman was upset over being disciplined for a fight on a school bus, so he shot his grandparents with a shotgun while they slept. He was tried as an adult and is serving 25 years in prison.”
Hmmm. Maybe the lesson here is that folks in Chester County should think twice before having children.
