Here is your word for the day. This one should be easy to apply but difficult to use in a poem. Get to work you poets. Eveyone else, "Have fun, do not take umbrage but be filled with badinage on this end of the week day."

I am a bit tardy today but here is a word that should be a delight to play with. Play along and win your reward.

“Your bandinage so airy,
Your manner arbitray
are out of place
when face-to-face
with an influential fairy”

This is from Iolanthe, a 19th century opera by Gilbert & Sullivan.

Unfortunately, there are far too many influential fairies these days!

Have a wonderful day, Louis! :-)

THe pundits at Fox News seem to view Hillary’s campaign with an inordinate amount of hilarity, levity, and badinage.

Good morning, Louis. I am working on my poem. In the meantime, I observe that Hillary was never good in youth. Why should we expect her to be anything but bad in age?

Badinage: The dressing wrapped tightly around the head to keep it from exploding as a result of watching TV news broadcasts.

With Chipotle and Scooby badinage
It’s a “Hillary’s just like us” barrage
But the Imperial Queen
Is rich, ruthless and mean
Don’t fall for the left-wing media mirage

Beautifully done. I note a distinction in the spelling. I am with you, always thought the word is bandinage. Dict. has it without the "N."

Your musical acumen is on target. What better use of badinage than Gilbert and Sullivan. We need a music award:

You are truly a master.

We may need to retire the award, or grant it in your honor.

They are truly sisters beneath the smirk. An excellent comparison.

What better award than one reflective of the subject.

I think the “n” might be my mistake.

But I was remembering the SOUND of the words, as i had memorized several of G & S operas back when i was a little girl.

“N” must be the unknown quantity here?

I think Leona Helmsley was nicer than Hillary. After all, Leona liked dogs.

The Gilbert and Sullivan choice was excellent and brilliantly selected. It was, however, not original poetry. Appreciate your humility but I am certain left that other site agrees your poem is classic and most worthy of the Feathered Pen award.

Hillary could play Leona in the Lifetime movie. And vice-versa (except Leona is slightly dead.)

Replace the H with the letter N. What, precisely, does that portend?
