Well, since those folks lived in the Attica area, it’ll be a fairly short walk for Ms. Mess ....

BTW, these here parts are the Wild Western NY – to Applegangers, ANYWHERE else is “Upstate”, but residents of the ‘Cuse, Southern Tier, Adirondack Region, etc. would also say otherwise ;-)

yes, I lumped yinz all in together, but I know from xshub the various permutations of NY state. He was born in the Mohawk Valley area, Herkimer, specifically.

I watch it about as much as I watch SU football/basketball/lacrosse. When I happen to see it.

LOL, I figured as much with your hubby’s background from mid-State... We’re pretty familiar with the Mohawk region – we used to make a lot of trips to the Albany area where friends lived, and visited that Auriesville Shrine many times. My wife’s family is actually from Malone in Northern NY (another bunch of road trips); quite a bit of French-Canadian influence in that area & also in her ancestry.

Jury duty went well. I was actually put on a six person jury in a pretty phony “slip and fall” case. By the time we returned from lunch, the judge gave a directed verdict in favor of the defendant. Not sure what I will do with the 5 bucks I earned. Lunch cost me $15. Best news is I can’t be called again for 3 years.

Did you stick with your usual hairdo, or did you do something fancy for the wedding? My daughter is bugging me.

Have never had an updo in my life not even for my own so I wasn’t doing that. But I had my hairdresser come to the house to do the bride, bridesmaids and my hair and she did my normal hairstyle but made it fancier, pouffier and with some swirls. It was perfect, not too fancy, not too plain.

Obama is a larrikin who
Tried to be classy quick-
But he doesn’t even have
The manners of Tricky Dick

Who certainly was deceptive
And like Obama paranoid too
But he didn’t throw tantrums
Like Obama is certain to do

Every time he is challenged
He rants away without thought
Nixon just went off in private
Which Obama was never taught...

I stopped at the grocery store butcher shop and ranch store for food and pet stuff for the week-it is the time of year when beef prices go up on the better cuts, so it is cheaper cuts like London broil and eye of chuck, lean ground beef and chicken for the grill for me now...

That sounds doable. My hairdresser will be back on the east coast and my daughter’s will be doing my hair. She wants me to have her do my hair and I am balking. I was thinking I would sweep it to one side with a flower comb or jeweled one. Otherwise I had no ideas.

I think the last time I had a real updo with the hairspray and all that was for my prom-I don’t look good in something like that, and I don’t like to spray my hair. I do wear my hair “up” to work, but that is a ponytail or bun on top of my head-no spray. Those fancy updos look good on some women, who have the features for it.

My hair has always been so curly, that I keep it short. Can’t deal with it if it’s past shoulder length.

I like that idea-soft and feminine-I wore mine pinned over to the right side with white baby roses in it when I married MrT5. You could attach real flowers to a comb/clip, too...
