I call this BS. In the Depression people did not do this and there were, by comparison, in far worse shape, even without hope.
They had hope - in church and family. And that held them together.
You're to quick to call BS and miss the point entirely. I would surmise that the people who experienced and lived through the Great Depression had a certain something that this current generation lacks, which is faith. Faith is where hope comes from.
I agree. Car services, McDonalds and dozens others are always hiring. Only make 10 bucks an hour? move in with three friends and go to school one at a time. Now your income is 80k a year. If the three not in school get second jobs income is over 120k a year.
Mexicans are illegal. But the ones I picked up in my cab worked 80 hours a week eight to an apartment and saved 500k in three years.
Who said they were without hope in the Depression?
Unlike today, they were for the most part not without family life.
