As my son has said, these roboticists find the
uncanny valley and put their robots right in the deepest part.
He was referring to Japanese roboticists, but I think this one is pretty close.

She looks Chinese. There is a difference in the eyes. They did not make them with identical curvature, just like real humans. Nice touch.
I think that I would prefer robots to not look too much like humans.

I don’t. ;) But honestly, if you put those glasses on a long haired woman with a remotely similar face shape, it’s gonna resemble Palin because we associate those things with her.
Case in point:
I gave a game character that is a 95% match for my daughter. it is uncanny. It looked NOTHING like my daughter with the stock hairstyle. One random change later...
“Dad, how the hell did you create me in the game?”
I didn’t. But the basic visual cues were there all along.

Really? If the glasses are gone the face is too rounded. The wig is arbitrary but does resemble her hair. To me the face looks oriental with some anglo features implied.

Don’t get me wrong. I don’t think it’s a twin, but the resemblance to my eye, is there overall. Especially the closeup pic. At a quick glance I’d flash on Palin instantly.
