my grandparents were from Italy and Sicily. I meant no offense. Sorry if it was taken that way. Valley Stream is nice from what I remember 20 years ago. Some nice nightclubs me and my friends went to in the 90s. Road rage does happen but I guess it happens everywhere. But too many guys out here watched goodfellas once too often including me lol. Thought we were tough guys growing up.
Should have looked to Fermi and DaVinci and Michelangelo and Meucci for role models instead of Michael Corleone and Tommy DeVito lol
My friends are from Bay Ridge, B’klyn, their grandparents are from Sciacca, Sicily, while I am from laid back Newport Beach, Cali.
I couldn’t believe the first time I visited them and experienced the Brooklyn Italian culture. We went to the Feast Of Santa Rosalia and I saw all the cugines, and ate the delicious Italian pastry...I thought I had stumbled onto the set of Saturday Night Fever or Goodfellas!
I grew to really love the culture, although the last time we went back, Bay Ridge was almost entirely Chinese, God only knows why! Such a distinct culture.

My relatives told me several years ago that they avoid the WalMart in Valley Stream.
On Black Friday in November, 2008, a huge crowd of mostly black shoppers literally broke down the glass doors of the WalMart in Valley Stream and trampled to death a WalMart associate, an immigrant from Jamaica.
