One more thing:

Just like the Uber Terms of Use, no one likely bothered to read the AirBnB TOU.

Apps are a dangerous new development for the general public, new & old, because it’s not just about clicking to install software or a game anymore: Not reading the TOU can have real life consequences because that click is legally binding, in many cases severely limiting legal recourse in the event something really bad happens...and I think we have yet to see the worst events transpire.

I don’t think the way TOU are used now is fair. I have advanced degrees and I’d need hours to fully understand the legal ramification of all the points within. And I am not the majority of people: we know there are some pretty uneducated and barely literate folks around.

It’s actually ridiculous. Click here to instantly agree to 12 pages of legal mucho jumbo?

There should be a way to make the main points therein written so that they MIGHT be understood.

(I am talking about in general, not this airbnb thing specifically.)

Just how binding are click-through contracts?
