I think Mariota has a better chance then Winston. Winston threw a lot of interceptions in college. He better improve his ability to read defenses or he won't last long in the NFL. They both need to learn how to play football at a much higher level.

Between the two you are correct.

But in watching Mariota in the Championship game, a large % of the plays they ran were fake dives designed in a 2min offensive structure.

Pro offenses don't work that way and pro defenses don't fall for the fake that easy. The other games in which I watched Oregon he did not stay in the pock for more than 3secs before bailing.

Recent history bears out......guys who stay in the pocket, go through their progressions and take some licks succeed. See Luck.
