I love that guns have made it possible for the weak to be free from intimidation by the strong. No longer is might right.
I love that the industrial age has made it possible for even the poorest people to be able to afford portable and reliable self-protection that hand guns make possible.
I love that modern hand guns make it possible for someone with little to no training to be able to defend their own life against an assailant much larger and stronger than themselves.

Before the time of the firearm, defending yourself meant the use of muscle and skill with an edged weapon.
You also needed money to buy armor for protection.
So those who had time and money....
Money for weapons and armor.
Time to gain the necessary skills.
...Were the ones who could rule of other who didn't have these resources.
