There is a story Stevie Ray Vaughan’s band guys tell. He was scheduled to play I think Red Rocks. When he, Stevie, arrived he saw he was first billing Bb King second. Stevie they say was mortified

Told his promoters don’t ever put me before BB King

I remember Rush Limbaugh mentioning him several years ago. He may have called the show. He is a Rush fan.

I worked promoting concerts at Ole Miss in 70s

We had BB play the chapel for a weeknight

He recorded it for an album

An intimate place it sold out

A real class gentleman.....very happy to be in his home state sharing his music with mostly a bunch of white kids

Jim Dickinson and Bobby Whitlock and Coon Elder all showed up and joined in

He basically did a meet and greet with everyone there.....now that is rare trust Me
I think all he insisted on was cold Coke in bottle and a fan....it’s an antebellum hall

My dad years later flew him around the state in dads Duke to shows BB did for a gubernatorial candidate who was a law partner of dads best buddy in Jackson

My dad spent two days with BB and found him a remarkable down to earth man....old school delta

Indianola is gonna lose another great King.....Albert....my favorite went first

Our delta bluesmen in my home state might be our greatest legacy....they can sure compete with E and old Bedford

I wonder how many times Mr. King voted for King Obama.
Didn't they sing together on stage?

I was fortunate to see B.B. King on several occasions. One, in the Tampa Theater, was quaint, up-close and wonderful.

Also, saw him play with Buddy Rich. Whew, what a day that was!
