You shouldn’t have laughed. A watch maker who is confident enough to offer a GOOD warrantee does so because he expects few (or no) claims to be filed against the warranted product. :6)

They also do that for watches that need regular upkeep.

I am fairly sure my faithful Bulova's warranty ran out a long time ago.

I have a $4 watch from Wallyworld that is five years old. Takes all the abuse I can give including thousands of shock loads. Changed the battery once. Yes it is crystal based. Learn to tell time from the sky. A watch in a SHTF scenario is just something else to manage.
