That said, I think it is important to give women who really want it the opportunity to strive to be worthy of a ranger tab: I believe there probably are one or two women with the grit, drive, and sufficient physical strength to earn the tab.... God bless each one of them for trying, both the men and the women, and thank God we live in a culture that respects women enough to let them try.

Horse manure. The Army, and especially the combat arms branches within it, was never intended to be a grand sociology experiment to promote fairness to anyone. This isn't a damned collegiate sports team or a tv show reality talent contest. The Army's primary mission has always been up until recent history, to win this nation's wars. That meant killing people and breaking things. It's damned hard work. Ugly work. Deadly work. Enter females as infantry ground combatants into that equation and you have a recipe for disaster on many levels, not just because of a lack physical endurance either. Allowing females to fill assignments in combat arms units leads to a degradation of the Army to fulfill its ultimate roll in defending the nation.

Now, the leftist feminists have a firm grip on the DoD military leadership's balls and are calling the shots. This has NOTHING to do with "opportunity" or enhancing military combat readiness. It has everything to do with spreading a raging whacko leftist "feminist" agenda.

I was thinking the same thing. To hell with political correctness. There are Male professions, and there are Female professions. Women shouldn’t be soldiers (even though I have a female relative who is in the Armed Forces right now, and we’re not even allowed to know where she’s deployed).

And women shouldn’t be police officers or firemen, either. That’s man’s work. I don’t care how big & bad a woman thinks she is, she still doesn’t have the bone structure, testosterone and desire to engage in conflict which is inherently MAN.

By the same token, men should not engage in women’s work. For example, I know several male nurses who work in hospitals. They are regarded with suspicion and sometimes outright hostility, especially by elderly patients and hospitalized children. Female nurses are greeted warmly and trusted. Male nurses are greeted with hostility and distrust.

People believe that women go into the nursing profession out of a sense of compassion, whereas men go into the nursing profession just to make some money. And there is a common myth in America that most male nurses are gay.

Just as there is a common myth in America that most female cops, soldiers and firefighters are lesbians.

There are some places that WOMEN do not belong. One is in a US Infantry company.

I agree. I was an infantry, airborne, SF officer. I can flat out state a woman in any rifle company whether US or INDIG would have hurt our combat efficiency plus morale. I damn did not want as the only other American to a platoon of 32 Montagnards -a damn woman. I had enough problems back in camp with the whores in Ban Me Thout.

Yep. This is all part of the war against our Judeo-Christian culture. Break down the barriers and damned the consequences.

We met a lot of male nurses in the ICU when our son was there for three weeks. They were very good at their jobs and needed for all the heavy lifting of unconscious patients. Several of them were former or current military personnel who drop into combat zones to pick up severely wounded combat troops. Not woman’s work.

Our military is already a damn joke next to what it was before AA was promoted in 1970 to mandate that a few black officers like Powell became Gens. Next came - don’t ask don’t tell. Then Obama threw the stench of society on our military. I recall when the main chapel at Bragg was a place we went for holy matrimony, plus to comfort the spouse of a fellow SF trooper who was KIA. Now Obama has made it so fag officers can openly have queer wedding ceremonies in front of God’s place. I want to puke.

Remember the girls are used to a smaller ball and shooting with a regulation NBA ball throws them all off.
