Decades ago, Vermont was reliably Republican.
From what I have heard, so many liberal expatriate New Yorkers and Bostonians moved there, that they tipped the balance of that state. Poster boys for this are Howard Dean and Bernie Sanders. Neither is a Vermont native.
That would be an interesting stat. to see. How many libs have moved to Vermont in the last fifty years.
