Myth Busters did a segment on nausea, digestion, etc. After experimenting with several different remedies, their conclusion was that ginger won the contest.

We use Canada Dry Ginger Ale in our household. They’ve recently changed the formula and it has less ginger in it ... dang. But it does help with digestive aid .. at least for the hubby and I.

I also like the theory of not having carbs w/ meat. We kind of do that in our house now ... meat and 2 vegetables. We typically only have pasta one night a week ... I have it w/o meat. Wasn’t thinking it helped w/ the digestion ... was doing it mainly to keep our weight down.

Back to ginger ... does crystalized ginger count? or is that just candy? :) I love me some crystalized ginger.

I think the crystalized ginger (candy?) worked well. When we cruise, I take a couple of ginger capsules before each meal and never get seasick.

I've only had success with fresh ginger root from the fresh food isle in the grocery. A large piece, about 4 oz is only a dollar and will last a couple weeks in the fridge. Grate a piece about the size of a pecan in 6 oz of water, heat, add honey.....quite a zippy flavor.

I have that problem when I pig out. Last time was sometime in the eighties. At 66 I have gone up two inches on my waist size since I graduated from High School (But that could be because I don’t wear my pants so tight nowadays).
