Teen Dies After Beer Pong Argument Leads To Shooting

Lacie LaRose was shot and killed after a fight over a beer pong game last month.

An argument over a game of beer pong at a graduation party in College Station ended in the shooting death of a 19-year-old Blinn college student.

The Bryan-College Station Eagle reported that Lacie LaRose was shot by Ronald Wayne McNeil, a 39-year-old neighbor of party’s host on May 2.

McNeil showed up to the party uninvited and watched the Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao boxing match with other guests. Most of the guests left after the fight was over, by a few dozen adjourned to the house’s garage to play beer pong.

McNeil and his friends argued with some of the party’s hosts over the game’s rules. After a physical altercation, McNeil and his friends left the party.

The party continued, and LaRose went to the back yard to get more beers. Multiple witnesses said they heard 15 gunshots at that point. It’s unclear how many struck LaRose, but she was transported to College Station Medical Center and pronounced dead at 4:55 a.m.

McNeil was arrested and charged with murder, deadly conduct and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The murder charge carries a sentence of life in prison.

If the outcome wasn't so bad, this would be humorous:

He said that his gun accidentally fired once then several more times when he tried to gain control of the weapon.

Some additional information:

An officer in a patrol car down the street from the residence heard the shots and responded to the scene to find McNeil and his friend fleeing in separate vehicles, according to the College Station Police Department.

The officer managed to stop McNeil's friend and gave dispatchers a description of McNeil's vehicle. He was arrested a short time later.

“He said that his gun accidentally fired once then several more times when he tried to gain control of the weapon.”

If Mr. Ronald Wayne McNeil is stupid enough to believe this firearm “accidentally” fired 15 shots at Ms. Lacie LaRose, he's deranged. A firearm doesn't go off by itself 15 times unless it is intentional. Where death results, it's called First or Second Degree Murder, depending on premeditation or spur of the moment action of the shooter. Either way, McNeil will not have to worry about where he will be staying for the rest of his life.
