Well, the verdict is in:
It is Venus!
So to be sure I just went outside with my binoculars during the day in Seattle to search for it.
It appeared almost immediately.
And I was actually able to see it IN DAYLIGHT without the binoculars!
The reason being almost near the solstice, the sun goes way, way north when it sets, and Venus which is on the ecliptic goes with it!
Too bad he didn’t go to Yale and spend an afternoon with Professor Aaboe. This is the sort or egghead who doesn’t look out the window, or up in the sky, but believes in his own infallibility.
I beat the poor sap believes in Global Warming and the Affordable Care Act, too.
