In the 1970s the APA changed the classification of homosexuality so it was no longer considered mental illness and many psychology and psychiatry organizations all over the world have followed. However, there was little basis at that time to think it should be changed and that decision has faced criticism as being political more than scientific.

The APA changed the designation to protect their own skins. The Homosexuals gathered en masse and showed up at their meetings. They threatened them, they called them at their homes, they disrupted their work, whatever it took to force them to remove it from the list of mental disorders.

What the APA did, they did for the purpose of protecting themselves from further intimidation. They simply knuckled under to the Gaystapo.

And I believe they recently reclassified pedophilia from a disorder to a lifestyle.

I believe what you say but is there any source for this or is it anecdotal. I would love to hear from those that are still alive that were in on the decision did not knuckle under.
