Just curious...

When you think about it, what’s stopping people from checking off any box they want under “racial categories”?

Don’t forms simply ask you for the race/ethnicity with which you “most closely identify”?

I’m wondering if there’s even a law governing which category you must check. Is anyone ever asked to provide evidence?

My children could check off multiple categories, and they would be telling the honest truth. But they tend to leave those boxes blank. AFAIK, no one is even required to check off a box. That’s what I’d like to see - everyone leaving the racial classification section blank.

Human. But of course in today’s PC world that may be a bad thing.

I posed this question:

I’m wondering if there’s even a law governing which category you must check. Is anyone ever asked to provide evidence?

Then I found this case...

These firefighters got into trouble with the law for falsely identifying their "race." They were asked to show evidence:

Malone v. Haley

The block for Native American is looking better and better. All you need is high cheekbones or just the self desire to be whatever you think you are

I think 300 million Americans need to identify as transracial and cause the race pimp industry to implode
