Actiually black cats are in worse shape. Or so it is said.

As for dogs, I can believe it but haven’t really heard that.

The thing about black dogs is their blending in, especially at night, and the sensation that a black face is scarier. Our own breed founder was against white German Shepherds partly because predators would see them too easily in the night, whereas the darker shades could sneak up on a predator better while guarding.

Not quite; Shepherds have been 2nd for some time. And the breed is Labrador; the color does not matter (major pet peeve of mine).

Yep, sounds like our house. Every time I brush our Lab, I get enough dog hair to make a whole new dog. :-)

What a gyp this story is! 3 dogs and a lady with big boobs and 2 kidlets. I was expecting a whole gallery of black dogs. I guess they want you to buy the book.

You hit the answer to the black dog problem right on the nail! They are difficult to photograph. It takes a pro like Levy to capture the nuancees in their fur and faces.

I finally bought a blinking light to attach to the dog so I could see where she was in nighttime excursions.
