Apparently the St. Louis baseball Cardinals employ some questionable deontology in their scouting and player research departments; or perhaps they just figure that other folks do a better job so why not just steal their data.

Cardinals Face F.B.I. Inquiry in Hacking of Astros’ Network

It makes you wonder why they decided to hack not only good teams, but also the Astros. They must agree with bill belichek's philosophy that "cheating never goes out of style; no good organization stays on top by playing within the rules." One should note -- goodly sums of money in player contracts often hinge on these data, so there is plenty of motivation for teams with questionable integrity to steal them if they can.

Oh, don’t even start with the Cardinals. The Buccos have been on a tear lately and can’t make up any ground on the Cards. We’ve only lost like 2 games out of the past 12 and made up nothing.

I’m going to the game tonight with guys from my department. Bucs won 11-0 yesterday. I hope they saved some runs for tonight.

And that the rain is done.
