Sounds like you are keeping pretty busy these days - or at least I hope so!

“Congress passed the Affordable Care Act to improve health insurance markets, not to destroy them,” Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. wrote for a united six-justice majority..
In that sentence, Roberts punts back Former Justice Marshall's over arching standard of Judicial Review. ...
That’s a good thing.

BS! He amped up judicial review on steroids, and amped up bureaucratic rewriting of the law in the process. With that sentence (and the sentence that followed it) he said that if the clearly written words of the law have an actual effect that is contrary to the rainbows and unicorns intent of the law, then the administration's bureaucrats in the IRS or other agencies, and the courts themselves are free to revise the law in whatever manner suits them.

He is a liberal for all purposes now - we need to acknowledge that

Obamacare is our first “enabling act” as a nation. Not a law, per se, but a grant of power to the govt bureacrats. Other agencies have the pretense, at least of writing regulations to put the passed legislation into place.

This is just “Congress wanted to do this so we do what we want” and nevermind the statute.

Of course, as I said, this is better politically for us.

I’m actually just finishing up what my compadre had started when he died unexpectedly-once it is done, I will work with any of the guys who want to stick with me, bidding/working my own stuff.

I’ve already got a plumbing sub who has never been very truthful or worthy of trust trying to scam me because he wants one of the vehicles my compadre stored here-and which I’m responsible for-he wants it now for his irresponsible wild man of a son before the title has transferred. I’ve texted back “no” twice now-and here are another 4 texts with 3 other excuses/lies to get the f’ing vehicle-I’m starting to get pissed and about to lose my Latin temper, which I do NOT want to do with a sub...

I actually think Roberts toasted the credibility of SCOTUS for a long, long time-and he certainly reminded us that voters get the government they deserve-let the backlash begin soon...

Thank you! The opposition needs to keep a hold on her collar and not let go of her e-mail and other scandals.

Yes-it happened a week ago Monday-his wife found him gone in his sleep when she went to let him know he was about to be late to work-he was doing fine when I saw him just shortly before-it is believed that he had a fatal toxic reaction to chemotherapy-I made mention of it here last week.

I’m helping with the work he left as much as possible, so the money is not lost-guys have to be paid, and I know from past experience how badly his wife needs every penny of his part. I’m devastated to have lost my best friend, needless to say.

I am soooo sorry ! I went back through your posts and found it. Since my grandson was born and him being in the hospital I haven’t been around much. What a terrible blow.

Cheaters and liars come out of the woodwork when they think someone is weak or they can get the upper hand. I’m glad you are looking out for your old friend. I’m really sorry - I know this must have been a rough time for you

All they did was reinforce the idea that the American political system is irreparably broken and needs to be overhauled much the same way our Founders did 225+ years ago.

Right.

He said, It’s Congress’ problem.

And...followed by saying the very next day, “Court is not a legislature”

In both instances, he deferred to the political process.

You will note, that Obamacare still survives despite Republican Control of both Houses of Congress.
Let Boehner and Mitch do the jobs they get paid for.

Now, I have an issue with (as did Scalia) with the denial of “The State” being a term of specificity....

The court should never have been the final arbiter of right and wrong, John Marshall’s abortion finally got it’s death sentence.

Judicial review was not written into the Constitution, it was created out of gossamer
