Let’s see if the Republicans now overturn the complete package as they promised to during election time.

Don't hold your breath.

If the Republican Party were serious about repealing Obamacare, they'd have taken it up their first day in the current Congressional Session and passed the repeal.

They would've then sent it up to Obama who of course, would repeal it.

Now, what would this have demonstrated? It would've sent a CLEAR message to the American People, who voted in Republicans in mass numbers to build their lead in the house AND to take over the Senate that they were serious about repealing Obamacare, and could be trusted on this issue.

But that's not what they did. Instead, the Republican Party spit in our faces and went along with Obama to pass TPP.

The message of the last election by the electorate was to STOP OBAMA. Not only have the Republican's failed on every level to do that, the dumb bastards actually gave Obama more power.

Anyone who thinks what happened today is a "good thing" for us come 2016 is just flat out batshit crazy.

It doesn’t matter. New things will come thick and fast, new opportunities for Republicans to prove they are the Official Opposition wing of the Democrat Party in order to ensure a total wipe out for Republicans in the 2016 Congressional and Presidential elections. Hussein might not even need those 20 million new voting citizens he will create in stadia across the country next year. Hell, THIS USSC will probably find multiple voting for the Ruling Party to be Constitutional.

“ok..they sign into law a bill the new, more conservative congress passes and sends to his desk to sign.”

So the next “more conservative congress” is going to magically be different from all the other “more conservative congresses” we have elected for the last 20 years?

“I disagree. Now there is almost nothing left standing in the way of full-blown dictatorial socialism.”

There actually is, and that would be a CONSERVATIVE MAJORITY running this country, and we won’t get there by a very old Republican Majority on the Supreme Court doing our dirty work. If worse came to worse, no doubt the Dems could find a clerk to end the Republican Majority by simply tainting the water supply there...we won’t win relying on them, no matter how right we are.

If we don’t like Obamacare, then it is UP TO US, to put people in power that AGREE WITH US and give them the power to end it WITHOUT relying on 5 geriatrics to do our dirty work. We can get there, but ONLY with our natural base. The question is whether the Republicans are able to FIGURE THAT OUT.

Perhaps, they need to let SCOTUS write the laws and then let congress vote on the legislation./s

Fair comment, but ONE BIG DIFFERENCE. Back in 2012, Obamacare was still “in the future”...it could have been stopped then. Now there are people actually BENEFITING from it (I know 2 of them...they would have to work if Obamacare didn’t exist). It is MUCH HARDER to ‘take away’ their benefits. There is simply NO WAY that today’s Republican LEADERSHIP would have permitted their goodies to go away, not when they’re controlled by their ‘advisers’ (most of them gay, by the way).

This is TOTALLY DIFFERENT...a victory in the court would have meant a TOTAL DEFEAT for us at the polls.

The Republicans don’t want to figure that out. They don’t want a conservative majority, no, that is their worst nightmare. They are more than happy to play “good cop” to the Democrat “bad cops” while we all get screwed.

-- They were hoping the court would undo Obamacare so they wouldn't have to. --

I think the opposite is true. While the rhetoric is nominally against federal control of health care, the majority of Congress is for something resembling the ACA. If SCOTUS had upheld the law as written, the GOP would have been in the position of having to pass some sort of "fix" that maintained the status quo established by the IRS. At that point, the GOP would have owned the ACA, and the last thing anybody in Congress wants, it is ownership of a bill that is unpopular with its brand of voter.

Today's ruling gets GOP off the hook - they can complain about the ACA, and offer excuses why they are powerless to undo it.

Like it or not, Republicans do much better when they can TALK as if they are Conservative, rather than when they have to SHOW that they are conservative, by actually VOTING that way on meaningful legislation.
This.

The GOP is more effective as a minority party, and deep down, I think they prefer to be the minority party.

With many states having open primaries and Hillary Clinton having no serious competition for the Democrat POTUS, liberals WILL register as republicans to tip the scales that will get Jeb Bush as the GOP nominee.

So the POTUS will be Hillary Clinton or Jeb Bush.

The POTUS has the lawmaking power of 2/3 of Congress. There are presently perhaps 5 Senators and 25 Representatives with any kind of conservative spine. We’ll need 67 Senators and 290 Representatives.

That’s a tall order.

We win by losing?

No kidding.

If that is our strategy it is no wonder we've lost what used to be the United States of America.
