Elections have consequences - we were warned
June 26, 2015 | Self

This is exactly why, when conservatives sit on the sideline awaiting the 100% pure candidate, we damage ourselves. Election have consequences and this is one - the ability to select Supreme Court Justices who will sit for life. Look at the ages of Obama's picks - 55 and 61. They are not going anywhere for years.

Abortion, gay marriage, assaults upon Christianity... and we dare to sing God Bless America. Why would he bless us when we spit in his eye.

LOL! We used to visit Lake Havasu in the summer but we stuck to water skiing, left the snow skiing to the brave ones, that was when Ronnie was Guv and just after. :)

Shock boots are evil. They retain moisture and rust the shaft leading to seal damage.

DID I TEACH YOU NOTING MAN!?!!?!?!?!?!
My whole life was a waste....

Wanna get married?

Wanna get married?

No. Even though legal now.. I've not advanced that far in my life journey.

I first learned that shock boots were the devil on my RM125.

Still.. I scored some for my jacked-up Ford longbed because..
well.. because they were colorful and made the underside look bad-ass.

For about a month until two of 'em got shredded off by bog debris.

Thus ended my investments into shallow pooftery.

YEs ansel12, I did read post 349, thank you.

Not a lying troll. See my posts here - as vitriolic as one can be against our fascist president.

Keep it civil.

Thanks for the note on Reagan’s retinal detachment, but I can’t find anything on it:

https://www.google.com/search?q=reagan+detached+retina&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&channel=sb#channel=sb&q=%22ronald+reagan%22+detached+retina+military

Can you post a link as I’m wondering? Furthermore, retinal detachments heal.

No military service on my part, but I would if called.

I was so fortunate to meet Reagan.

I should hope so, since you claimed that you and he were "friends" or as you said "Might I remind you that my friend Ronald Reagan ALSO DIDN’T SERVE IN THE MILITARY either." Along with "Are you also going to criticize the venerable Ronald Reagan for his lack of military service?"

What about post 377?

Out here they don’t have the moisture issue but the dust. If you plug the vents they just blow off the top and if you don’t the dust acts like sandpaper.

At least I’m on record with FR’s first gay proposal under the new rules so there’s that...

You never served a day, and you are attacking Reagan for his 9 years of military service, after first claiming that he never served at all?

Well, the retina detachment seems to have been a mention along with other mentions of what his eye problem was, so you were right to focus on that insignificant point as unverified, as you continue your attack on Reagan.

Being a minor point, there doesn’t seem to be a consensus on what his eye issue was, there rarely is on such tiny things.

There are various mentions of different eye problems that caused his “limited service” designation, but you are the first to imply that he was faking something to avoid what? being in the military after having already been serving for 5 years already?

“At President Reagan’s June, 2004 state funeral in Washington, there were huge crowds of mourners and dignitaries. Military and police honor guards. There were limousines, 21 Air Force F-15 Eagle fighters flying over in a “Missing Man” formation, and Army cannon booming away in salute to their fallen Commander-in-Chief.

But if one looked towards the caisson, the Army artillery cart traditionally used to bear the coffin in military funerals, there was a truly rare and moving sight that will never occur again in American history.

The caisson was pulled by four magnificent Army horses. Close to them, to the sound of slowly beating, muffled drums, a soldier on foot led a riderless horse named Sergeant York, to represent the fallen Commander-in-Chief. There in the stirrups, turned backwards, were Reagan’s Model 1940 US Cavalry riding boots and spurs. This old Cavalry practice continued a Roman tradition in which a slain leader symbolically faces and salutes his men on the way to his final resting place,

Ronald Reagan is the last President who was a veteran of the United States horse Cavalry, a living link to the mounted Cavalry of American mythology. Though his enemies tried to deride him as a make-believe cowboy, Reagan was a genuine Trooper- a US Cavalry soldier trained to ride into battle on horseback. His riding was not an affectation put on for show to conform to an idolized, mythologized idea of the Old West. It was the legacy of his Cavalry service, a clue to understanding the man. Yet surprisingly, little has been written on Reagan, the Cavalry Trooper.”

” Reagan began some home-study Army Extension Courses in 1935, and enlisted in the Army Reserve in April 1937, as a Private, or Trooper (the traditional name for an enlisted soldier in a Cavalry Troop) with B Troop of the 322nd Cavalry at Camp Dodge. Eventually, Reagan was commissioned a second Lieutenant in the Officer Reserve Corps of the U.S. Cavalry in May, 1937.”

“If you seek Reagan the President, his majestic, huge Air Force One and armored limousines are accessible and impressive. But to get a sense of the man, look for a humble pair of his broken-in, well-worn Model 1940 US Cavalry boots and spurs. His Cavalry service was a source of pride, to the end of his life. Although Reagan later transferred to the Army Air Corps during World War Two, his Cavalry service was a source of pride for the rest of his long life. Decades later, when he was President, the US Cavalry Association at Fort Riley, Kansas was thrilled to receive his membership application. Reagan (who would also serve as honorary director of the veterans’ organization) had taken the time to carefully detail his Cavalry service, in his own handwriting.”
