Yes. Conservatives as a group could not even unite around a single candidate to go against Romney. They split the vote across three of them. I realize “uniting around a candidate” is not easy in the real world of politics. But until conservatives — as a group — can somehow unify around candidates and gain power then these defeats will continue.

Conservatives do unify around a candidate. The one with the most conservatism worth unifying around. But when there are none that can hit 80%, then you get the Romney fiasco.

And then you have to consider most ‘conservatives’ are nothing of the sort and here solely to guarantee unification behind a liberal GOP offering.
