I've Been A Bit Quiet Lately
Free Republic ^ | 28 June 2015 | Windy

Posted on 06/28/2015 12:16:00 AM PDT by Windflier

I haven't been commenting much lately because my mind is simply on overload right now. I'll bet yours is, too.

About all I can say is that, now isn’t the time for me to ramble, but to digest, contemplate, plan, and prepare.

I’ve spent years at this forum spilling my guts and taxing my synapses. The exchange of viewpoints with others, and even the verbal fisticuffs, has been rewarding in many ways for me.

But recently something’s taken hold of me that’s hard to explain. I guess I’ve quieted down due to the storm clouds I see gathering on the horizon. The low rumble of thunder is just barely heard, but I feel it in my bones. I’ve stepped back from the roundtable, and am now intently gazing at what approaches from the far distance. I can’t take my eyes off it. It’s distracted me from the hearty and boisterous conversation around me.

I’m obviously not the only one who notices, but unlike most, I’m having a hard time talking about it. My survival instincts are kicking in, and all I can seem to think about is doing what I must, to protect my family and myself.

Well, enough with the poetry. I know you get my drift.

I still harbor a great deal of hope that we can propel a conservative champion into the White House in 2016, and help to end our collective nightmare. I've become convinced that Ted Cruz is the one person who has the capacity to unite the good and decent people of this country, and that he's a man who has the requisite courage and backbone to do what must be done to rein in our tyrannical government. I am backing him 100%, and will do everything in my humble ability to see that he becomes our nominee.

For one, Ted is the very first candidate I’ve ever sent money to. Considering the fact that I’ve been voting since 1972, that’s saying something. The way I see it, this is our very last chance to steer the ship of state away from the rocks before she finally crashes, and I have got to do what I can, to avoid what will surely follow, should we fail. I do not want to look my teenaged children in the eyes in a few short years, and say, “I’m sorry kids. You shouldn’t have to risk your lives to save your country, but my generation was just too weak to keep things from coming to this.”

Although it’s incumbent upon me to stay up to date on the tragic unraveling of America, I’m doing my best to not become completely overwhelmed by the course of events. I’ve got a business to run and a family to provide for. That comes first, above all else. That, I will do, but more and more, I look to the Founders for guidance in these bleak and horrible times. Their personal stories, and the examples of heroism they provided, give me hope and strength to carry on in the face of a tyranny they would recognize at once.

In the past, I’ve prayed that our generation would not be called upon to earn our freedom as our forefathers of the 18th century did, but more and more, it appears that that hope is vain. Every day, a new page of history is printed, which in retrospect, will prove that our darkest fears were right on the mark, and that we were right to posit that this generation would either fail, or would pass the greatest test a people can face. I think we can agree that such thoughts are becoming more crystal clear by the day.

I was just telling my wife today, that I wish we could just pick up and move to our rural dream home. Right now.

If only it were possible. I need that solitude and sense of safety. Alas, it’s not to be — at least not for several more years — that is, if things in this country can even hold together.

One saving grace is that I’m in the great state of Texas. As I’ve often told my wife, if things in America go completely sideways, we’ll be safe here, because if (God forbid) the S does HTF, things will straighten up in Texas overnight, as the good men of this state WILL stand tall, and they WILL do their ancestors proud. My certainty about that outcome is just as strong as my gut certainty about the horrific trajectory of current events in this country.

I think every thinking patriot on FR is on the same page with this. It would be a wonderful thing if the ‘other side’ would simply let us be, but they won’t. They’re going to continue pushing until something breaks. It’s just how they roll.

In my heart, I honestly feel pity for them, because when they finally light the match on that prairie fire, no power on God’s green earth will be able to put it out.

“Beware all those California refugees, Texas. They may be escaping a Socialist hellhole but they bring their brainless liberalism with them into the voting booth. Before you know it, their disease has spread.”

A number of Freepers have said that, but they and you are incorrect and here's why:
Liberals hate Texas more than all the other states. They aren't coming here - the conservatives living in California are the ones coming. Most liberals who leave CA due to high taxes (and maybe now due to water rationing), are going to neighboring states. Every state official in Texas is a Republican conservative. However, the speaker of the Texas House, Joe Straus, is “supposed” to be a Republican, but he isn't. We have to dump him.

You said, “Prepping is more than important right now; it is critical. God still loves us, at least for a little while longer, or He would have levelled us like Sodom & Gomorrah by now.”

Yes, prepping and getting friends to do the same, is important. With the homo colors abomination on the White House, I don't know how long it will be before God takes his vengeance on this country, however, we know those of us who believe in God the Father, God The Son, and God The Holy Spirit, will survive His Wrath.

I believe we Christians are under attack right now from indwelled Satan in the form of Barack Hussein Obama. Every day there is another Satan inspired attack from him.

You see, I want to do both:

1. Go Galt: Hunker down, be prepared, ready to come up from the darkness to defend my liberty and way of life.

2. Fly my “Appeal To Heaven” flag in the light of day and night now and dare anyone to mess with me. I know someone may try to steal that flag.

I feel the same way. One side of me says 'prep, gather resources, stay quiet'; the other side of me says 'someone needs to step up and lead those around you - go do it like you always did at work'. I'm still asking the Lord what he wants me to do.

Years ago a friend in special ops told me they brought an old feller in to teach knife fighting. IIRC the first thing he told then is don’t do it. If you find yourself in a knife fight you are already dead. Concentrate on killing the other feller fast and you may just survive. He humiliated them all that day and he was easily twice their age. He told them the old thing about 25 feet and my buddy chuckled. He told him to holster a rubber glock and try him. My buddy was kinda stubborn. He came by the house later that day and showed me three nasty, fresh bruises over his heart. He said that old man was on him before he could even clear the holster.

Yeah, the rot started way before Barky in the White Hut. Some say it started as long ago as the end of the Civil War, others with the income tax, FDR and so forth. I think we'd be OK up to FDR if we stopped there, not perfect, but largely intact although I think the 14th Amendment needs to be dumped. The huge push started with LBJ and the great society, the 1964 Civil Rights Act and the 1965 immigration act.

Other hits was maybe The Pill and the Free Love movement. Yes, I am a libertarian on sex, when one reaches the age where one can consent, then they have the right to enter into agreements as they freely choose. However, before they get to that point, the people in society largely taught the next generation their ethics and morals to instill good thought processes to hopefully bring about good judgement calls to make those decisions. The big problem is that we are also bombarded by huge media that clouds the good thought processes. When we keep adding, we also discarded personal responsibility an accountability. Free Love isn't free, there are consequences, as in everything we do. If I drive 120 MPH, the I must accept the possibility where it is possible I could wreck and my father will have to bury what little remains of me in a shoebox or I can at least get a ticket and pay the fine and not eat for a month. People are generally less mature now. My grandfather quit school at 13 to work, at 13 he had to make adult decisions, very few 13 year olds today can do that now. We have to do the best to arm the next generation to make huge decisions, sometimes even a younger age than we want so they can prepare themselves.

I think we slowed down the rot in the 1980's with Reagan but picked up with Clinton in the 1990's. Even so, with Barky in today, I'm so desperate, I even miss Bill Clinton (not his wife though). I thought 9-11 would change it but made it worse, the terrorists have won with the freedoms we lost. Dad is right on that point. I think the 2000 election and all the whining was another nail in the coffin. I remember Mom and I putting up the Christmas tree and they were still fighting in the courts. Then Barky came along. Just think, had that Senator Ryan running in Illinois managed to keep his records sealed, we might not have Barky today. Barky did not start this but he is doing his best to push it faster.

I've had those dreams too. One dream was where I was holed up with a few friends and an atomic war started. After several weeks/months when the radiation went down, I remember a couple of us driving my Hyundai (or any car) towards Pittsburgh and we ended up on Mt. Washington overlooking the city. All I remember was seeing what's left of the buildings all twisted and melted. It was so silent, the only noise was the wind blowing and making a sickening, eerie sound.

Another dream I had was where I hit the lottery but put a lot of the money into prepping as well as classic cars. I moved further away from Pittburgh but Mom was still there but I was moving her. The SHTF before I was done so I drove fast to my old home in a 1969 Caddy and a few friends to get Mom and bring her back where I lived with a young wife and a rugrat or two. It was so eerie at my old house, the electric went out and it was like 2AM and a full moon. Mom was crying but relieved she was coming home with me. As we left, I saw a school chum at his parents trying to do the same thing. He works in DC at the Senate building but came home when things went to Hell. He was looking for his parents and sister but no one was there. I told him to join us but he declined. I told him, your chances to survive increase if you come with us. I then said, leave a note and we will come back up in a week, he agreed and I tossed him an extra AR-15 we had. He loaded his Expedition and followed us home and it was it. The only change is my mother is gone in real life. BTW, since he worked for the Senate, I was going to ask him what really went on if he knew but I woke up before that. The only thing I know is we didn't have an atomic war but something happened.

Well stated, my friend. I haven’t had much to say myself lately. Words fail me. Much as I try, about the only thing that comes out is FUBO. I’m with you on Cruz, though. We may be down to the last cartridge in that box and Cruz seems to be our best shot. God willing, America will survive the coming storm and Liberty will persevere. Freedom going extinct? Not on my watch!

It is wrong to sexualize kids at a young age in schools. It is up to the parents to teach their kids about it and know when it is time to tell the truth and be not afraid to approach the subject. That said, not only kids will know the truth and hopefully learn good decision making for life, it will also arm them into knowing when something is wrong and to say “no.” Also if they have been harmed or nearly so, to come to their parents or a trusted adult and report it. Sad to say, that doesn’t happen and then you have cases like 10 or 20 years down the line where it because a “he said, she said” thing and you really cannot have a fair trial and investigation (I want justice but I don’t want innocents to suffer either) because of it.

“At some point the line will be drawn and there will be no turning back from whatever happens then.”

I thought that when the fedthugs told schools that “You have to lower your standards and pass them,” and told the universities the same thing.....then when they told major corporations that “You have to lower your standards and hire anyone who shows up.”.....

I thought that that was the breaking point. As each step toward communist totalitarianism happened I thought that that SURELY would be the ‘breaking point’. The breaking point has not happened. Is it ever going to happen or are we going to go the way of Nazi Germany?

That gave me a chuckle. I was on FR for at least 10 years before I wrote a tag line.

“Just recently ordered the same flag, dear FRiend. Blessings to you for all of your timely advice, over the years.”

We have to go to Harbor Freight and buy a new flagpole before the “Appeal To Heaven” flag gets here, since our flagpole was stolen. The crooks stole our flagpole and American Flag and the pole and flag from a neighbor across the street. He has had another pole and flag up for a few months now and it’s still there.

Jane, we are in a hell of a mess in this country.

It is almost impossible to connect with employment now.
This week Career builder sent me a ping.”Edward Jones” and “BOA” are interested in you as a branch manager.
I was like really? because my resume has nothing to do with that

The next Email says we are interested in you ad a Heavy diesel railroad mechanic.

The world is CRAZY

Good, Lord...it’s not enough that they desecrate our flags...now they have to steal the pole, along with the flag?

Yes, I agree, we are in a hell of a mess. Sadly, half of the population doesn’t even know...or care.

We need to form a Texas Freepers Country Club...out in the country, somewhere in the middle of the Lone Star state ;-)

The leftists are trying to light the match. Christians will be snatched away when the flame first appears, and the leftists will be left to cook in their own ‘banquet stew’. By refusing to bow their heads they shall not see God coming or going. But they will feel it, when God removes His restrainer.

We did that long ago in “Texas Cowboys” honor
We have kept that tradition for 10 years now.

Come on over we’ll make some burgers or sumpin, play some cards and howl at the moon.

There will be a large belly full of politics as well but we never let that stand in the way

Great post my Brother.

I have been quiet as well. Knowing a storm is coming.

The two rulings of the black robed thugs and the fiasco drummed up by the media over the Stars and Bars flag is what I am referring tow are the leading winds of the continuing storm.

We cannot survive a judicial system that makes the laws they enforce. This must be fixed

Also, I believe an election of even a stalwart President like Ted Cruz could not right this ship without some bloodshed of miscreants that are determined to ruin this country

Planning, prepping and practicing. My three “Ps”.
