Wish I could say that was a shocking attack. Just a normal every day jumping by a black person. If there wasn’t a toddler involved, it would never have even made the news.

Exactly right. Assault is otherwise a misdemeanor, and overlooked. The law has more pressing things to attend to.
This will be plead down too. The DA and courts will give low bail, a stern talking to, and expungement of the record.
