Back in the early 70’s, deployed to Turkey, we were directed to respect local customs and laws. Of course, Turkey at the time was a bit more ‘western’ than today, it seems.
Same thing, though, applied to all foreign duty stations to which I was assigned...respect local laws and customs.
I don’t agree with anything done by this rogue regime, but this particular one is not worth getting overheated.
