How about a Day song?
In this day may I be faithful, ,
In this day may I be true,
in this day may I do for others,
that meet and bless them true,
In this day be hopeful,
in this day be kind,
in this day pray hopefully,
and praise God, sublime.
Hallelujah! To God’s glory, Hallelujah amen.

Be Near July 21, 2015
The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart.
Psalm 34:18
My friend was going through some difficult challenges in her life and family. I didnt know what to say or do, and I told her so. She looked at me and said, Just be near. Thats what I did, and later on we started talking about Gods love.
Many times we dont know how to respond when others are grieving, and words may do more harm than good. Serving others requires that we understand them and find out what they need. Often we can help by meeting practical needs. But one of the best ways to encourage those who are suffering is to be nearto sit beside them and listen.
God is near to us when we call out to Him. The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles, the psalmist says. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit (Ps. 34:17-18).
By putting ourselves in the shoes of others and allowing our hearts to feel compassion, we can help those who are hurting. We can be near them as God is with us and sit close to them. At the right time, the Holy Spirit will give us the words to say, if they are needed.
Who needs my help or for me to sit alongside them this week?
The best way to encourage others may be to just be near.
Notice the exuberance with which David celebrates God in Psalm 34. In verses 1-3, the king declares his commitment to continual praise and invites others to join him in the celebration. At the root of his exaltation are two great expressions of Gods careHis answers to our prayers (vv. 4-6) and His protection and provision (vv. 7-10). These take on such great value to David because he recognizes his own weakness, marked by his fears (v. 4) and his sense of personal emptiness (this poor man, v. 6). Gods rescue in the face of such realities is cause for celebration.

I have GratiTuesday today as well!
It has been a bright, sunny day all through to just a half
hour ago when it started clouding up and getting dark.
Bryan will be delighted if we get a good soaking from
the rain that was predicted on NOAA this morning.
The laundry is moving on apace, and it will probably be
done by the time Bryan gets home.
Outside now, it’s 75° and the air is very still, so far.
Calm before the storm and all that.
Mr. Sunshine just poked his head between the clouds and
said “Hello” to the grass and the trees. Then he left.

Sounds like a Grati-Tuesday, indeed! 75º sounds divine ;-)...
...(as I swelter in 92º that feels like 99º)...
Enjoy your day and week!

OMGoodness! I hope and pray that your weather cools off soon.
It never even rained here today. I looked at the radar, and I could
see that it did rain near here, but it split in two and never dropped
more than a few fat drops later on this afternoon.
It’s sunny again now.
May the rest of the week go well and comfortably for you, dear Jane.

It’s so nice to have a heavy rain once every week or two during summer. We had been in a drought for a month and a half or so, and everything was dusty and drooping. Just an hour of a torrential downpour, and the leaves were all shining again, the air fresh and clean.
I hope that you get some rain, TOL!
