Well, this might seem like a vanity, and probably is.
But I have a special request for the space station.
We need you to film fireworks from space!
Since the Russians pretty much own the ISS now, which we’ve mostly paid for, I don’t think they’re planning anything too pro-American. Obama might also disagree.
LMAO!
But if it was my mutt, it’d be a hound, probably a Bassett!
I flew from San Francisco to San Diego at night a few years ago on July 4th and watched fireworks go off nearly the entire way. It was quite a show. We landed in SD just as the finale was happening over the bay. It wasn’t the same as from space but it was a show I won’t ever forget.
Kool!
When I was a kid, (well, I say “a kid” now, but I was probably like 25) I rode my bike east of the Empire Mall in Albany and watched from there. It was an amazing show!
Oh well... youth, like fireworks, is here for a flash and a bang, then there is only debris to clean up...
Have a Happy Fourth of July!
In this time of fiscal restraint, we cannot allow you a space station.
Sorry.
I doubt that they can see terrestrial fireworks from the ISS without the aid of a large telescope.
Won’t be able to see fireworks from that far up FRiend.
What do you think satellites do?? We get pics from all over the world.
Our town sponsors a fireworks display about two miles from our house. We can sit on the deck and enjoy our favorite beverages and we have a perfect view. No crowds, no porta-potties, no traffic, comfy chairs...what’s not to like? We can play our own music, too. The alpacas wander out of the barns to take a look. Good times.
I live in a high rise apartment, the view is nothing short of spectacular watching tens of thousands of fireworks go off.
The higher the resolution needed, the longer it takes to take a pic. That’s why, when you look at Googlemaps and zoom in, the pics are almost always devoid of people.
(((What do you think satellites do)))
About 13-14 seconds when properly set up
You can find numerous YouTube videos of fireworks filmed with a GoPro mounted on a helicopter drone as it flies amongst the exploding shells, accompanied by exhilarating music.
My Brittanys would be pointing birds as they flew by
Could be that there isn’t much to see from the Space Station.
This is a video of some fireworks from an airplane:

After seeing ISS video of lightning storms, I’m not sure you could see fireworks from space as more than just pinpoint flashes of light.
