Yep. I had a opened box with those peanuts sitting on the back seat of my car that fell over when I had to brake hard and those damned peanuts went everywhere. And to make matters worse, I had my car windows open so it was like a mini tornado of Styrofoam and they also got statically charged, I guess from flying around and they stuck to everything - me and the windshield of my car included. I went to the carwash to vacuum them out, but the static charge made most of them jump away before the force of the vacuum could suck them up. Even after cleaning up as many as I could, for almost a year, every couple of days Id get into my car to find a lone peanut on my seat or on the dashboard or steering wheel - staring at me with their tiny Styrofoam eyes, taunting me, daring me to catch them : ),
I purchase quite a few things from Amazon and notice they do not use bubble wrap or Styrofoam "peanuts but what I would call air filled pillows:
And surprisingly no matter how hard you try, they do not pop. It takes way to much force to break them and when you finally do, all you get is a very unsatisfying "whoosh".
Got a chuckle out of your peanuts story. I’ve got a big bag full of those things in a storage closet and I can sense that they are waiting for the right moment to make their escape and go rampant.
Unless you put them on the floor and jump on them ...then you get a loud explosion that's heard three offices away (don't ask me how I know that ;-) )
