The GOP Base Loves Trump
Slate ^ | July 1 2015 4:51 PM | By Jamelle Bouie

There’s no world in which Donald Trump is a serious candidate for president. Republican elites don’t want him, Republican donors don’t want him, and if—through some cosmic fluke—he managed to win a major primary, every strategist and activist in the Republican Party would turn their aim toward him and his candidacy.

The author is apparently a liberal.

The source is liberal.

It is a biased bunch of nonsense, but I LIKE IT.

Trump is on a roll. Keep it up, Donald, keep it up.

The obvious question is “Why?”—why does Trump have a hold on this thick slice of the members of the Republican base?

The guy can sure turn a phrase. LOL

The media is promoting Trump. Buyer beware.

If the base really supports Trump, then the left knows that they can take an liberal, have them shout a few sound bites, and conservatives will support them. There will never be another conservative again.

Anyone ever heard of the scorpion and the frog?

I’m sure if you want to promote your candidate, the website would be fine with you posting a pro-Cruz article.

Just saying.

Where am I promoting a candidate?

I am just pointing out the worst candidate, who is only pretending to run, and who is not conservative.

If you take out the inflammatory language he learned will get you attention, his position on illegal immigration isn't any different than Jeb Bush.

And he's completely untrustworthy.

:D

Go Trump. Don’t stand down. Keep on making waves.

I just read a good article on Trump, and interestingly the leaders of Mexico. Saying they are involved in the same attitude toward immigrants to America. The very same.

It is an article with something of a bite. The author is apparently Mexican. The article is on balance, critical of Trump, but it is critical of Trump while being equally critical of the leaders of Mexico, and that seems sort of balanced.

Review if you would like:

“I am just pointing out the worst candidate, who is only pretending to run, and who is not conservative.”

For someone who is only pretending to run he sure is willing to take a lot of shots to his reputation and business. Wish the others who are really running were as willing to stand on principles.
Trump isn’t as conservative as a couple of the others but he does have real world accomplishments which put him ahead of the rest.
As far as not trusting him, I don’t trust anybody running for office very much. He’s no more untrustworthy than any of the rest.
Trump doesn’t claim to be a social conservative. He claims he’ll close the border, get better trade deals, and create an environment for better jobs for Americans.
He resonates with the people because there’s a genuineness to his message that the rest lack.
He doesn’t need the money so he isn’t beholden to special interests or corporate pay masters.

Neither.

Donald trump has supported virtually every liberal position Hilliary Clinton supports.

There is a small but vocal segment of the Republican party which is easily led and easily disappointed. When has Trump ever showed an interes in conservative causes?

....every strategist and activist in the Republican Party would turn their aim toward him and his candidacy.

Just like Tokyo Rove and Charles (Sour)Krauthammer did to other Conservative Republicans who defeated their LIBERAL Republican friends in the Primary!

Trump has discovered that all he has to do is be a tough talking take no prisoners type of guy and throw out a few platitudes about making America great again and that’s enough to sucker more than a few on the right into supporting him. The rest of us however know better and see right through this clown.

There are 300,000,000 million people in America. Probably 60,000,000,000 are eligible to be president.

Every ballot in America will offer a write in. Thus there are 60,000,000 options you have to not empower a known liberal. If however you CHOOSE WILLINGLY to vote for a known liberal, you are what you vote for. Votes and words mean things.
