Like many geniuses, he was a bit of a loon and seems to have really lost it at the end of his life.
And he also predicted that a car company would be named for him in the future.
And this very same car company would get billions of dollars in taxpayer funding so that they could build $100,000 subsidized cars only for wealthy people.
And then he laughed!
That could never happen!
Preferring the company of pigeons to humans is normal...
He did not become the archetype or mad scientist by accident.
His early years were those of a Titan, the latter ones a sad shell of a man.
Late in life he went the Howard Hughes route.
He was off a bit on that one.
Regardless of how he degenerated socially, he was no less a true genius who was easily 100-150 years ahead of his time.
The following article illustrates his verifiable accomplishments in a humorous, but no less awe-inspiring, way:

Really? THATS your searing insight?
I think you misunderstood what he meant. Not sure you know what telephone use required in 1926 either.
Did he predict dropped calls, roaming fees, sexting, texting, tweeting, Siri, etc...?
so what? He didn’t become part of the gaystapo......and it’s a sad commentary that your initial reaction to his brilliance is this.
Frankly, I didn’t know he was gay. I didn’t care. I still don’t. He’s not the gaystapo on the rampage today.....those are the only ones I’m concerned about.
no, but he did advocate wireless universal electricity distribution so you would never have to recharge your phone.
I don’t think he quite understood the concept of money though. He was constantly making and losing fortunes.
Long distance was a pain in the butt as late as the 80s. Now I don’t usually even notice when I call someone across the country.
On a TV show a Chinese student in America got upset about something so called his dad in China. No more involved than calling across the street. And nobody noticed how amazing such a thing is.
So, yeah, I’m pretty sure phones are much easier to use than in his day.
LOL if only he could have envisioned a TV show called "The View". He would have had to come up with a new theory.
When I read in the article that he thought females were superior I thought the light hearted “Gay” comment would be funny. I have no poof he was gay.
There’s no evidence whatsoever that Tesla was a homosexual. In fact, given what psychologists claim, that about 4-6% of the adult population is asexual, it’s about twice as likely that he didn’t care much about sex at all.
