UNSTOPPABLE TRUMP: The Donald is rocketing upward in the polls and dominating the 2016 race
Business Insider ^ | July 11, 2015 | Colin Campbell

Real-estate magnate Donald Trump is on a roll. And three-plus weeks into his presidential campaign, he doesn't seem to be slowing down.

Not even a phone call from the leader of the national Republican Party — reportedly asking the presidential candidate to "tone it down" when it comes to his crusade against illegal immigration — has had much of an effect.

Agree. He may not win but he can certainly force the agenda.

I , too support Cruz - at this point, but I do admire Trump. Every article I read mentions the fact that he is a very successful businessman. What people need to remember is that he grew up around building sites and the building trades. He grew up talking and dealing with blue collar guys at a very young age. He knows BS when he hears it. As long as he keeps talking straight and doesn’t lose his b*lls, he will keep gaining in the polls. It is refreshing having someone kick political correctness in the butt.

Trump is talking about illegal immigration, bad trade policies, jobs, and the national debt. I am glad someone is.

What the United States needs to do is occupy the northern 25% of Mexico (reflecting the fact that 25% of their population already lives here). Jeb and Vicente could be co-governors and see if they could turn the most industrious part of that country into something other than a third world $h*+hole.

Once Mexico stops exporting people in such massive numbers, we could work out an amiable bilateral agreement where we exchange their industrious people who want to work for our slackards who want to live off their fellow Americans. It is a lot cheaper to be a slackard in Mexico.

Well as frauhillary says what difference does it make? With Boner in Ireland selling us south with amnesty and illegal immigrant reform conservatives won’t have enough votes to counter the legit and fraud votes on Soros owned voting machines.

Actually didn’t NAFTA and GATT effectively dissolve Canadian and Mexican borders?

Agree with your post.

Trump has many ideological flaws but he’s one of the few willing to fight for things we all believe in at FR.

Browse his campaign website. See for yourself

And that's Cruz's problem right there.

Point one: Every candidate has a fancy website filled with bold talking points. These sites are usually just boilerplate.
Point two: How many voters actually visit these websites anyway? I'll bet it's less than 1%.

Trump has momentum because he came out swinging, and he keeps on swinging. He's making the news, and gaining support, by being bold and combative. That appeals to many frustrated Americans.

Cruz might have great ideas, but I would not describe him as "bold and combative". And that's why he pales in comparison to Trump. The old Reagan coalition wants bold and combative.

I think we should enmasse start referring to boner, graham, McCain and the others as what they really are closet dems. From now on I am. Not GOPe. There is nothing grand about these sellout twattettes.

"Not true. Ted Cruz has been on the forefront on making a stand on all issues."

Yes, we're all aware of Ted's "stand" on TPA, H-1B and the Corker Bill which is enabling an Iranian nuke.

And those three issues are why Ted Cruz will not make it past the Florida primary.

"I can't say with any certainty. Still, please tread lightly, and understand why many of us are very wary of whether he can be trusted. "

As I see politicians for what they are I think I'm smart enough to not trust ANY of them.

I hope you're that smart too.

Cautious Trump supporter.

"where the GOP(e) fragmented the conservative wing"

The GOPe had nothing to do with that. It was a problem with the competition to the GOPe.

Problem is that a conservative, or America First, candidate cannot get access to the GOPe money. Once the TV ads start running it's not hard to destroy ANYBODY who is gutless and penniless.

“My biggest worry is like what happened in 2008, and 2012, where the GOP(e) fragmented the conservative wing, to slip in their RINO candidate.”

Seems to me the conservative wing does the fragmenting, to itself.

Also seems to me the conservative movement would be better off, with less energy spent blaming external factors, and greater energy on a better plan and execution.

Agreed. Quit being stagnant and bending over. Fight for what you believe in. I;m not saying I will vote for Trump but I;ve heard every known “fad” from Palin to Allen West then they crumble near the finish line.

Even if Trump is only telling people what they want to hear, it is a vast improvement over Jeb and the others who tell us what we don’t want to hear.

Is this guy a political opportunist, who has changed his stripes to fill a niche? I can't say with any certainty. Still, please tread lightly, and understand why many of us are very wary of whether he can be trusted.

Trump is well known by the LIV and those paying no attention to politics. They like him, and his style. He appeals to moderate democrats who detest the illegal invasion. He is #1 on facebook followers.(Cruz is a close second)

Trump is the most hated candidate since 1980, according to an article at conservative treehouse. He is being attacked by the media, the GOPe and the democrats. Just like Ronald Reagan was in 1980.

Those bashing Trump give him billions of dollars worth of free air time and column inches. He could go all the way.

Piss him off by forcing him out of the republican primary and he will go third party.
