Trump AZ Speech today: Let's get some FReeper Feedback. What stood out to you the most?

Posted on 07/11/2015 5:41:23 PM PDT by Din Maker

I've been a political junkie since I was 16 years old, but, I have never heard a political speech like Donald Trump's speech today in Phoenix, AZ.

I'd like to hear from some FReepers as to what was the one or two things in the speech that stood out, the most, to you? My two would be:

#1. Five (5) Sanctuary Cities in Florida during Jeb Bush's time as Governor.

#2. Why would America elect a woman who was the worst Sec. of State in the history of our nation, to the Office of President of the United States?

I wish I could remember the word(s) he used to diss Al Sharpton.

No teleprompter.
Took on the press.
Took the wood to Hildabeast.
Took the wood to Jeb.

I thought his speech was somewhat rambling.

A little too much shooting from the hip.

Trump throws a powerful punch, and Jeb was his target today.

If the media doesn’t use biased editing against Trump, Jeb has been dealt a powerful knockout punch.

Jeb hit because he would be like his brother losing jobs to Mexico, China, and Japan.

Jeb thinks sending us illegals is and act of love.

Jeb sticking our kids with Common Core

And Rubio was in charge of one of the Florida houses of the legislature and Jeb was his mentor. So he bashed Rubio without even having to name him.

Jeb was in charge when Florida had 5 sanctuary cities.

I am sure O’reilly Hannity and maybe Kelly will play excerpts Of the Trump rally.

The two parents who lost their kids to murderers in the country illegally were SUPERSTARS backing up Trump.

I loved his solution for keeping the Ford plant in the U.S. Wish he were in office now. He has some great ideas on trade. He’s not a polished speaker, but I find that rather refreshing.

I had my laptop streaming the YouTube to the big screen at the local brewery. What stood out? Not one person complaining about politics being on the TV, no one yelling out to turn it off, and not one person leaving during the hour plus of his speech.

That's what stood out, in a town which has slowly been turning liberal over the last 15 years.

I loved it, it was refreshing to see a candidate standing there talking about the things that are so important to our Great Nation....wonder how long it’s going to take for the Fox News Network and MSM to smear him with something....one thing for sure, I’m not going to pay any attention to it...remember the libtards don’t like their people being at the bottom of the barrel....

- Loves the military.
- Loves Mexicans... just not the illegal immigrants.
- Made it clear that he is the anti-politician... Washington has nothing but crap for negotiators.
- Took great swipes at Democrats....especially Maobama and Hitlery.
- Took great swipes at Republicans.... a bunch of no-good do nothings.
- Took great swipes at some of the others running.... mostly Bush.
- Doubled down his comments that terrorists from the Middle East are coming across the border.
- Talked about his wealth but in a good way....more the case of “Elect me and my success will rub off on you.”
- Fired more than just a shot across the bow of ISIS.
- Made it clear that he wasn’t about to back down on anything.

* His acknowledgement of open warfare with the press impressed me most.*
* No candidate can say the right things unless he acknowledges that.*

Didn’t do much but what he did he did well.

Called Sharpton a con man... Loved it! I kept finding myself agreeing with him every time he called somebody else out. Never really been a huge Trump fan, but what I like most is he is NOT concerned with being politically correct and speaks his mind. I will say I am done voting for lying career politicians, if the choice is only career pols, the line will be left blank from now on, no more lesser of two evils for me.

Here is a map of the sanctuary states, counties and cites. Red is a city, yellow a county, and green a state.

In FL, there are 7 counties that provide sanctuary to illegals. They are Broward, Palm Beach, Miami-Dade, Pinellas, Hillsborough, Hernando, and Pasco counties.

It will interesting to hear what Jeb and Rubio have to say to that. Texas has one-Travis County.

More than 200 cities, counties, and states across the United States are considered sanctuaries that protect criminal aliens from deportation by refusing to comply with ICE detainers or otherwise impede open communication and information exchanges between their employees or officers and federal immigration agents. These state and local jurisdictions have policies, laws, executive orders, or regulations to this effect. These sanctuary policies obstruct federal law authorizing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to administratively deport illegal aliens without seeking criminal warrants or convictions from federal, state, or local courts. Although federal regulations plainly require cooperation, the federal government has never sued nor sanctioned a sanctuary jurisdiction, nor denied federal funds. In contrast, the Obama administration has made it difficult for the states and localities which choose to aid in enforcing immigration laws, in some cases going so far as to sue to have such assistance prohibited. In addition, in a November 2014 policy memorandum signed by the Homeland Security Secretary, the administration reversed longstanding policies by directing ICE agents not to issue detainers except in rare circumstances, and explicitly allowing sanctuaries to ignore ICE efforts to take custody of deportable criminal aliens.

Agree. He needs better delivery especially with long speeches.

However, his style will be an asset in short response situations such
as interviews and the upcoming debates. His natural style will serve him
well in those situations.

That's it. He was talking. No canned speech with a teleprompter. That's what made it different.

Didn’t see/hear the speech, but from the freeper comments, what’s not to like about Donald Trump? And I’ve donated to Cruz for his campaign.
