I was actually born in Monroeville. My familial relationship with Nell’s family was memorialized via the character of Miss Maudie Atkinson. My paternal (the women :-)) family used to buy hats from Truman’s aunts. They were hat makers. My dad couldn’t stand Truman.. LOL...
Miss Maudie is lovely. One of my favorite characters.
