BTW...please tell me which this is based on your knowledge of the english language.

Is the following an “order”?...or a “request”?

“Do you mind putting out your cigarette, please?”

Order or request...pick one.

If you say “both” you are a bootlicker....just sayin.

Personally I think it was a request, but one could argue that in context it was a polite order.

“Would you please step out of the vehicle, sir.” Order or request?

“Please put your hands behind you back, sir.” Order or request.

Again it is a moot point. Whether the cigarette thing was a lawful order or request makes no difference. He had the authority to order her out of the car at any time.
