I think both Cruz and Trump would nominate judges who follow the constitution, Walker I have less confidence in. On foreign affairs, Trump is king, with Cruz behind and Walker in the dust. On military issues, again, Trump is miles ahead of Cruz and Walker. On economic issues, all three have their standouts, which pretty much makes that a wash.
Is Trump's evolving viewpoints on abortion all that much different than Walkers? No. Cruz does stand out on that issue, but I'm also not expecting a lot of leadership on that issue, aside from budgetary priorities which will reduce abortion, and I consider all three to be equal on that.
On other domestic issues: Cruz stands out on dismantling the ObamaCare system, but I doubt any of them will actually push away from nationally mandated ‘equal pay’ coverage, or the mandatory inclusion of maternity care.
And Trump and Cruz are the lone contenders if the issue is illegal aliens. Cruz's positions on giveaway trade & unlimited patents & copyrights as well as the infection of the senate are the biggest reasons why he's second in my list and not first.
I went last night to my local brewery in my liberal leaning town and had a couple people ask if I had another Trump speech I could stream onto the TV. Again, people stayed, they listened, they agreed with him, even the morons in the corner with the rainbow stickers and fading Obama/Biden sticker on their Prius. They were the first to ask, ‘Why wasn't this on the news? Why do they just include little tiny tidbits?’
Trump's inspiring discussions and viewpoints that have not been part of politics for a very long time. The rest of the GOPe field had best pay attention to this and start campaigning on these issues, or they will lose.
