I know why the Concordes are gone, but I’m still not happy about it.

Flying on one was on my bucket list.

Supersonic flight was killed by the EPA. It was determined that they ruined the O-zone layer and that we would kill the planet if the airlines went to supersonic planes.

The US banned supesonic commercial air traffic over US airspace. That's why there was never a NYC to LA supersonic flight. British Airways and Air France had to go subsonic over the ocean.

In the 1960s I remember reading that all airplanes would be supersonic. Now it's 2015 and there is no viable supersonic transport in the commercial sector.
