I have osteoarthritis in my hands. It was obvious from looking at the swollen finger joints but xrays showed the extent of the damage. My MD also thought carpal tunnel syndrome was a possibility in my wrists so I was sent to a specialist for conductivity tests. Those tests came back normal. The test itself isn’t painful, it just feels like having a rubber band snapped against your skin. I’m only telling you about this in case your MD recommends it, so you won’t be overly concerned.
For the osteoarthritis in my hands I was prescribed Naprosyn, which is prescription strength Aleve. I don’t remember for how long I had to take it, maybe a month? Anyway that relieved the inflammation and stiffness quite a bit..my MD said it helps some people but not others..it did help me.
He is on the fence RE Glucosamine ..I don’t take it. Occasionally when the soreness/stiffness gets bad I’ll take some Naprosyn which helps.
Hope my missive helps you..hang in there let us know how it works out for you!
