Steyn has explained elsewhere that he’s raising money for the suit by hawking books and mugs, etc. on his website, instead of accepting donations, because he doesn’t want people to become targets in some way for giving him donations. However, they can’t legally ask for the names of people who *buy* stuff online from him. So if one wants to support Mr. Steyn (as I do!) then one should go to his site and plunk down a few bucks there.
I have no problem donating to worthy causes-I contributed to Ezra Levant when the head-chopping lobby and their cohorts in the CHRCs were conducting their inquisition. But I can understand why normal people don't want to disclose anything that might end up in the clutches of these eco-fascist lunatics.
