He could do it through Executive Orders, but would have to go to Congress for the money, if needed.

No, you can't raise taxes or tariffs by executive order.

US Constitution, Article 1, Section 8:
"The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises, to pay the debts and provide for the common defense and general welfare of the United States; but all duties, imposts and excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;"

That was SUPPOSED to be the reasoning behind NAFTA.

The giant sucking sound would keep Central Americans in their own country.

We have probably 10x more illegals since then.

Build the damn wall already. Assimilation cannot take place with an open border. The bastards are invading and bringing
their failed culture with them.

I posted the Link as soon as I realized it had not posted with the article. It is not deliberate. I gave you the link to the article. It was also at the top of the page at the site which was posted with the article.

I am having connectivity problems with my server and am rushing to get articles posted. I am not deliberately doing anything wrong.

I can just see the rats filibustering taxing the remittances...that’ll go over like a lead balloon. What would their talking points be?

You know the dirty little secret here is that Mexico has a wall on it’s southern border with Central America. Keeps out others so Mexicans can get into our country. I hate Mexico and I hate Mexicans. And why shouldn’t I? They hate us, believe me they do.

They are important to their home country. Every dollar going into a bank benefits the country it goes in. In my opinion, much of that money goes into those banks as a nest egg for those illegal border crossers in the U.S. The cost of living in those countries makes it very beneficial for those accumulating lots of money in savings accounts.
Let’s say they can save $5000 every year for 20 twenty years. Synchrony Bank has a 1.05% interest on savings. To save $5000 a year one would make monthly payments of %416.66. With an initial deposit of $5000 and 1.05% compounded monthly, at the end of 20 years you would have $117,387.37. Also, they will have put in money for U.S. Social Security. I have no idea how to calculate there potential income from Social Security. Let’s say it is cream on the top.

This site gives the average monthly salaries ranked by country. Looking at the list, Mexicans have an average monthly salary of $609. That’s $7,308 a year and, that divided into $117,387.37, is 16 years. This does not account for the interest on the balance after money is taken out of the nest egg.

You can’t fence the Texas border so your only looking at around 900 miles.

Mexico doesn’t have a choice if we get someone in there with cojones.

Anyways it’s a common fence, it’ll keep illegal Americans out of Mexico as well. :).

That's easy - they would talk about those poor "undocumented immigrants", working so hard to earn money to support their families, and how the evil GOP wants to steal that money from them and make them pay to keep their families from joining them!

Remember, these are Democrats - they don't have to be intellectually consistent. And getting future Dem voters into the country will outweigh the possibility of getting more tax money to spend...

What they say they will do and what they will do are two different things.

Once correct motivation is applied, you might be surprised!

This is not complex. This is easy. And there are so many things we could do to make this corrupt country comply and be happy to play by our rules for once.

One very simple way to get them on board would be due to new changes in border security. Every single vehicle, car, truck everything will be searched and inspected. This is for the safety and security of United States citizens.

The lines of traffic would be backed from Tijuana to Ensenada.☺ And do the same at every border entry point all they way down to the Gulf.

50 cents excise tax on each auto part they make and ship into this country - they’ll pay for the wall....

Of course the downside of that is they may become uneconomical, the work goes to Indonesia, Vietnam, or Africa, and you have that many more unemployed Mexicans trying to barge in here.

We can probably adjust the tax level to make it more economical to simply stay put and pay the tax than to pack and move half way around the world - point is there are all sorts of ways they can be made to pay up if they want to continue to have our jobs and money pouring into their country....

I was working in the industry back in the 90s when a lot of the auto component stuff went from the US to Mexico. Then the Chinese came online and were so much cheaper it all went there.
Now there are another set of 3rd world countries undercutting China. Interestingly enough, Mexico is getting some of the work back.
Thank God there’s a wide ocean to swim between here and China or they’d be coming here like maggots on stink.
